Ultim-Eight
How to make
Prepare 8 cubes. You'ld better get larger cubes to handle easier ( 2" cube is good ). Then draw numbers on these cubes as expanded diagram.
Problem
Put 8 cubes togather into 2x2x2 larger cube. On each surface, you get 4 numbers. The object is let the sum of 4 numbers on each surface equal.
Comments
In old England, the puzzle called "Mystic Eight" had been sold. That puzzle is almost the same as this puzzle, but It has more than 300,000 solutions. One day, Mr. Yoshigahara, my puzzle master, showed me this puzzle and asked me "Can't you rearrange the numbers of this puzzle and make it has only one solution ?"
This puzzle is the answer for it. It has only one solution. You'ld not better try it by hand.
